SHORT FILM
CHALLENGE
Ahead of the UN Climate Summit, Financial Times in collaboration with The Royal Court approached us to help create a compelling short drama exploring inaction on climate change.
Directed by Julliet Riddle and written by Chris Thorpe, this project tackled the issue head-on with a compelling nine-minute monologue, with acclaimed actress Actress Nicola Walker, styled as a newscast from the year 2050.
PROCESS
Working hand in hand with Juliet and Thomas, we set out to create immersive virtual sets and graphics that would carry alongside the narrative seamlessly.
Our task was to enhance the story through animated infographics keeping audiences engaged for the full nine minutes without detracting from the gravity of the subject. The visuals needed to inform, captivate, and complement the hard-hitting message, ensuring the facts resonated while holding attention in a meaningful way.
Our role extended to assisting with technical direction on live action to ensure a streamlined time time-effective process both in filming and the postproduction of the film. By incorporating 2D and 3D graphics we added an extra level of professional aesthetic that integrated flawlessly into the film, enhancing the visual impact and storytelling power.
RESULT
Thanks to the Financial Times for asking to join them on this meaningful project. It was an honor to be part of this conversation. The film received a great response winning an award for innovative short film.
